My relatives are similar in the way they act. It sounds like you and I a mushrooms-- they feed us bull and keep us in the blind. Anyway you have a new grandkid to enjoy, when you get to visit him. Be grateful for that.

I forgot to mention that my granddaughter will be three at the end of September. I haven't seen her since just after she turned one.

My beef isn't with my son. It's with my father and my aunt. They had every opportunity to give me a hint of what was going on, but consciously chose not to.

At the moment, I can't afford the gas money or the time off to go visit, and I'm not sure my son would want me to anyway. The reason I hadn't called him in so long is that he is not comfortable around me. This is also the reason I am hesitant to visit him.

Pride has nothing to do with it.

I am so sorry that you are hurt. For many of us that live away from most of the rest of our family such news sometimes does not get through. It is possible that everyone that you spoke to, or wrote to, assumed that you already knew. I know that this is not much solace.
